September 2009 saw W32/NetSky.Q as the highest detected virus, with an estimated 1 PC in every 11000 being infected.

NetSky was first discovered back in March 2004, however as with many of the earlier NetSky variants, NetSky.Q avoids sending itself to addresses associated with antivirus vendors.

NetSky uses its own SMTP engine to spread whilst harvesting email addresses from various files found on the infected user’s system.

Please ensure your anti-virus software is up to date and you have the latest signatures installed.  Do a complete system scan of your system.
