Problem

How do I set up outbound SMTP in Mautic?
How do I use outMail in Mautic?

Solution

The following example assumes you have already got a fully functional Mautic system.

Log into your Mautic system with Admin privileges.

Select the configuration menu from the settings icon

Mautic Configuration Settings

Select the Email Settings from the configuration options.

For this example we'll assume you already have a Display Name set and email addresses setup for the send from address and the bounce email address.

Select the option "Other SMTP Server" in the "Service to send mail through" field.
Enter mxXXXXXX.smtp-engine.com in the "SMTP Server hostname" field.
Change the "SMTP port" if necessary. See below for alternative TCP SMTP Ports.

Select the option "Login"  in the "SMTP Authentication mode"
Enter the outMail username and password provided to you.
Change the "SMTP Encryption type" to "TLS"

Select "Send immediately" in the option "How should email be handled?"
